Family Fun

This past Sunday, my 20 year old (soon to be 21, oh my!) stepson and his fiance came over for the day. We played Balderdash and had a blast! The last time they were over, not too long ago, we played Outburst and can't wait to get together again Halloween night to play Scattergories which is one of my all time favorite games.

Does your family play board games? If so, feel free to share your favorite games with me by posting a comment. If you're not a board game playin family, I highly recommend planning some family time together, no matter the age of your kids.

I Wanna Be a Great Big Loser

Of weight that is! On 8/21/05 I made the decision to make a lifestyle change. My goal is to lose 100 lbs by Christmas Dec. 2006. Kev and I are planning a very special 10 yr. anniversary vacation for Dec. 2006/Jan. 2007 to Couples, an All-Inclusive resort in Jamaica and I can't bear the thought of wearing a bathing suit in this condition so I have been working hard to accomplish my goal!

I have incorporated many changes and am feeling really good. I gave up drinking soda on 5/23/05 (minus the occasional Canada Dry Ginger Ale) and now drink about 7-10 glasses of water a day. I have cut down my food portion sizes, started exercising and joined a few online weightloss support groups.

I'm going to compile my results so far and share them on my blog but for now I'll end with links to my favorite weightloss forums. Feel free to stop by for a visit!

Crazy busy life!

So much for keeping up with my blog. Life has been busy here. I can't believe I haven't posted on my blog since before our summer vacations. Anyway, just a quick update...over the summer Kev and I attended our Luau themed Newton family reunion. It was a lot of fun planning the reunion (for those of you who don't know me, I have a theme party/party planning business)! We bought all of our decorations from Oriental Trading and everything looked fabulous. Everyone enjoyed the games, food, music, etc. Kev and I brought a wide variety of food made with fabulous products from Our Family Favorites, the company I represent and everyone loved it all. We had a good trip and the hotel we stayed at even let us bring Caleb, our Basset Hound. He loves people so he was super excited to be able to join us on the trip.

A week after the reunion, Kev and I flew to Orlando, FL, First Class on Spirit Airlines. I had never flown First Class before and it was a great experience. We went to Orlando to attend a business 'convention', what we called the Our Family Favorites Family Reunion (guess that was the theme for us this summer..lol) and also enjoyed a personal vacation at Disney at the end of our trip. We had a blast but both of us were definitely exhausted and glad to be home.

So now here we are 3 months later and I have so much to tell you! But I'll have to keep you in suspense until my next blog entry. Hopefully that won't be in 3 mo. ha ha!

Happy Friday!
